About Us

We're the IGDA GBC Club here at George Brown College and we want to make this the best Global Game Jam the college has ever seen! We're an academic chapter of the International Game Developers Association and have hosted lots of fun events in the past like our Eat Play Mingle and our Monthly Socials. To find out more about us and sign up for our newsletter check out our new website.

What's Our Goal?

Our goal is obvious, to make this the best GGJ Site that Toronto has ever seen! We strive to make networking events and jams more inclusive and welcoming for students (especially the ones that are hosted right here at home), newcomers and first time jammers. We can't feed you, but we can teach you! So what do we have in store for you?

Event FAQs

It's completely free!

Unfortunately this year we won't be providing food for jammers since our tickets are free! If that situation changes we will be sure to let our jammers know ASAP. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores around the campus to keep you from getting hangry though! Jammers are also welcome to bring their own food & there are microwaves on each floor.
Yes! We will have a designated quiet room for sleeping, but as long as you aren't blocking any fire exits or walkways you're free to sleep wherever you want. Bring pillows and pjs!
If you need a computer, register for one with your ticket. Computers with intuos tablets are also available. Our computers and equipment in general are top of the line and will be able to handle whatever your creative process needs.
BRING A USB KEY TO SAVE YOUR WORK, the computers wipe everything once they are powered down. We have plenty of outlets and power bars for those wishing to bring their own computer as well.
We are not able to provide monitors without computers. Those wishing to use their own computer or laptop will need to provide their own monitors.
Since we are right in the middle of downtown unfortunately there is no parking available. There are a few Green P paid parking lots on the block, as well as paid on street parking. This site can help you find parking
You're free to install any programs on the computers that you want. Just remember that as soon as you power off the computer, all of your work is gone! So BRING A USB!
You can contact one of us lovely organizers at igda.gbc@gmail.com or on any of our social media accounts and we'll be sure to get back to you ASAP.
